Get ready for Embry in the West Loop

Around the corner from their Hayden West Loop condo building, Sulo Development is looking to begin the next iteration for the same West Loop block.

Embry will be a 58-unit condominium development, about 16 stories tall, designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative. You can use this link to see the Linkedin introduction they posted.

Not many details yet, but renderings are available on its website, and it’s replacing a really ugly lot, so yay on all fronts so far. Plus, the website attributes James McHugh Construction as the general contractor, and we *really* need to see them with a tower crane in the air again.

1400 West Randolph brings the pane

The first row of curtain wall is being installed at 1400 West Randolph in the West Loop. Meanwhile, overall construction looks to have reached the 15th or 16th level. Have a look at at Power Construction’s handiwork:

CTA and Metra rides, Zipcars, Divvy bikes, camera lenses, and solid walking shoes add up. You can help offset expenses with a greatly-appreciated donation to Building Up Chicago.

Progress Update: 1400 West Randolph

Let’s walk across Ogden Avenue from 1454 West Randolph, which we saw last week, for a look at how work is progressing at 1400 West Randolph.

Same team involved on this one as well, but on a larger building: 26 stories and 278 units. Developed by Marquette Companies, designed by Brininstool + Lynch, and built by Power Construction.

Checking in on the farther-west of two developments from Marquette Companies.

1454 West Randolph is also the shorter of the two projects (1400 West Randolph is the other), bringing 11 stories and 242 units to the triangular lot bounded by Randolph Street, Ogden Avenue, and Lake Street. Designed by Brininstool + Lynch; built by Power Construction.

Goettsch Partners announces the topping out of 320 South Canal

320 South Canal (Union Station Tower) has topped out in the West Loop.

Goettsch Partners announced on their Instagram page last night that the final beam has been lifted into place at 320 South Canal, celebrating the topping-out of the West Loop’s freshest skyscraper.

Congratulations to all involved on this construction milestone, including Clark Construction, Riverside Investment & Development, and Goettsch Partners.

CA6 begins its dance into the West Loop

Because it’s replacing a dance studio. Anyway…

CA6 is the latest devhttps://ponnopozz.com/collections/books-puzzles-and-kits/products/the-pelican-puzzleelopment from Belgravia Group, who’ve given us Renelle on the River, Three Sixty West, and CA Washington, to name a few. It weighs in at eight stories, 72 condos, with 76 parking spaces. Its building permit arrived February 9. The permit to demolish the former Hubbard Street Dance Center on this site was issued in November of last year.

Sullivan, Goulette & Wilson is the design architect, and I am digging the renderings. (Those arches!) Maris Construction is the general contractor.

I can’t find an opening target date on the CA6 website, but it *is* right next to a Target, so there’s that.
