Signage a good sign at Homewood Suites/Hampton Inn

Homewood Suites Hampton Inn

The Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites at 118 North Jefferson has signs stating such.

The new West Loop hotel from Jupiter Realty continues to stride towards completion. The combination Homewood Suites & Hampton Inn is now clearly marked at the top of the south-facing facade.  Designed by VOA Associates, the Homewood/Hampton will have 336 rooms and about 8,000 square feet of retail space, plus 117 indoor parking spots. The building permit also mentions a restaurant on the 24th floor.

Power Construction has been on the job since ground was broken in March 2015. And it looks like they’re close to making Jupiter’s goal of opening the Homewood-Hampton this month. There’s work to do in the lobby, and some mints to put on pillows, but my guess is, folks will be catching shut-eye here within the next two weeks.

Construction Update: The Cubs’ “Triangle” Office Building

Chicago Cubs Triangle Office building

The Ernie Banks statue stands tall in front of the triangle-lot office building.

It’s not a triangle like Phil Jackson and Tex Winter brought to the Bulls’ offense. It’s the triangle that used to be the Red and Purple lots at Wrigley Field. And it’s where the Chicago Cubs are now developing a new 6-story office building that will also includes the team’s 30,000-square-foot clubhouse.

Designed by VOA Associates, the new facility is being built by Pepper Construction. Which is strange, because I could swear I’ve seen several NO PEPPER signs around Wrigley Field.

It may not exactly be the kind of room service you’re expecting, but Power Construction is busy getting a new Homewood Suites-Hampton Inn ready for you in Chicago.

At 118 North Jefferson Street in the West Loop, the new combination hotel from developer Jupiter Realty will pack 336 rooms into the 24-story tower that, from the outside, looks close to being done. Designed by architect *Mike Siegel of VOA Associates, Homewood/Hampton will include about 8,000 square feet of retail space, while providing 117 indoor parking spots. The building permit also mentions a restaurant on the 24th floor.

Ready to make a reservation? Jupiter hopes to have the hotels ready for guests in September of this year.
